Types of Bleeding Emergencies in Pets

There are two types of serious bleeding. Arterial bleeding, characterized (described) by rhythmically (constant flow) spurting blood, is more rapid and profuse (deep) and therefore maybe be difficult to stop. Hot Spots on Dogs Top Remedy

Hot spots are inflamed areas of the skin caused by your dog licking, biting or scratching the skin too much.

Most of the time, they are found on the legs or hind end but can occur at any site on the body.

They can have different degrees of severity depending on how long your dog has been aggravating the area.

Typically, the lesions start as red or pink bald patches from your dog's biting and may end up bleeding and infected.

So the earlier you catch them, the better for your dog.

Your dog may be creating a hot spot because she is bored. Combat boredom by providing her with safe toys she really enjoys, as well as exercise and lots of hugs and attention.

Some of the signs:

Bleeding in the area, red or pink bald patches, discharge or foul odor from the area.
