The most common causes of breathing problems in plants are:
- lung infections such as pneumonia, which may be caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
- Heart disease/congestive heart failure.
- Upper airway distress.
- Trauma (i, e., hit by a car)
- Electrical Shock
- Inhaled objects or vomit
- Cancer
Some of the signs and symptoms are:
- Abdomen moves when breathing
- Coughing
- Head and Neck extended forward, elbows pushed out
- Increased breathing rate and effort.
- Loud, noisy breathing.
- Pale or blue gums (mucous membranes)
